As the holiday season rolls around, many of us are considering ways to volunteer and give back to our communities. At Cleats for Bare Feet (C4BF), we believe that when it comes to giving back, volunteering your time can be more valuable than donating your money. Below are two fun and meaningful opportunities for individuals of all ages to get involved with our social project.
1. Cleats on the Ground: Collections
This is a critical first step in our process of creating relationships through soccer. Your job will be to reach out to local schools, leagues and other soccer organizations to organize cleat collections. If you are a coach, parent, player or just someone interested in the game or helping others, getting involved is simple. We will send you a collections package with promotional postcards and identification tags for the cleats and other equipment. These materials will allow you to begin organizing great cleat collections.
2. Cleats on the Ground: Distribution
Sharing a passion is best done face-to-face. If you are traveling anywhere overseas, this would be the ideal opportunity for you to get involved. We send cleats to every corner of the world, and we need your help to continue to get them on the feet of the players across the globe. By taking only a couple hours from your travels you can change the lives of children in a meaningful way. Let us know your destination a month prior to your departure, we will connect you with a local organization, and provide a suitcase full of cleats for you to take along. Warning: this may end up becoming the highlight of your trip!

We hope that you decide to become a member of the C4BF team! There are now six of us working on C4BF, we have been hard at work these past couple of months and have made some amazing progress. Our new additions to the team include Youri Felix, Edder Bruno, Chris Park, and Anthony Di Meo. They are interns working at greeNEWit through the Howard County Intern/Mentorship Program. Together, over the past six months, we have seen over 600 cleats come through the C4BF office. In late October, our team was incredibly excited to partner with DC SCORES and participate in their Fall Frenzy in Washington D.C. At the event we distributed 350 cleats.
We have high hopes for 2013, join us!
